OK, I tried to get this up at a more punctual time, but every time I attempted it, the upload would fail, but I persist!

Ryu is pretty neat, even though in just about every other game I find him to be boring. I mean, he's the template for SO MANY fighting characters, but he actually gets interesting if you throw him into a nonconventional fighter like Smash Bros and don't change much! He can still combo, and even use his specials with the same motions, as in Street Fighter. Watch me barely pull them off!

Shulk has the ability to see the future and can use his Monado blade to alter his stats....but you'll see none of that here! My opponent didn't see a need for them, I guess.

I definitely overused Ryu's Focus Attack here, I suppose, but I wanted to experiment with it. Turns out I can totally tank some of Shulk's Smash attacks and either retaliate or evade (not that Up Smash though!) or I could get a cool KO with a Shoryyuken.

After that KO...Shulk takes to jumping for a bit and Ryu is quite puzzled. How do you fight an enemy like this?! Wonder why Shulk never used Monado Jump at that point...
