Smash TV [Nes][CompleteTheGame]
The classic arcade shooter got a Nes port which is surprisely good.
Of course, things were changed to make it run on the 8-bit Nes but it still look good, the music (one track) sounds close enough, the carnage is there, the audio clips are still in (lower quality of course), all bosses are there (they feel smaller and easier) and tons of enemies to kill.
Some powerup weapons are missing, the mines are gone and I saw no keys (even if the manual mentions both mines and keys), but it is still pretty truthful to the original arcade version.
What about the controls you ask?
The original arcade version had two joysticks, one that you moved around with and one that you shot with. The Snes version is perfect because the X, Y, A and B buttons works like a second stick, but what about the Nes controller?
You got two alternatives. The first, and worst, is that you hold the B button to lock what direction you are walking in, and use the A button to shoot. So you must move in the direction you want to shoot, lock it with the B button and then move somewhere else. This will get you killed multiple times.
The second, and superior, is that you use two controllers. You turn them 90 degree to the left and use your thumbs on the D-Pad. Your left thumb controls the movement while the right thumb controls the shooting, and it works great. Biggest problem is that you need 4 controllers if you want to play two players.
And if you got two Nes Advantage controllers... so great...
