2these exchanges really made me realize how important it is to take a multi-shot rifle if you are playing alone. if you have a shotgun, or a single shot rifle, you telegraph too much weakness to the enemy team, which can read your weapon type and shot frequency to quickly understand when it is safe to heal or advance. i really like the springfield 1866 with dumdum (bleed ammo variant) as a cheap primary, but it's a lot harder to suppress a duo with a single-shot weapon at my skill level than to just use a vetterli, which is a solid all-around weapon. for reference, springfield with 2x dumdum ammo is $88, and vetterli is $105; pretty similar on price.
