Part 63 of my interactive 100% playthrough of AI: The Somnium Files on PC.
Iris told us quite the story in order to explain the events happening around her lately, and to be fair, it left us more skeptical than anything else. Our doubts aside, we already got tangible proof that the idol's life is being threatened, and so we decided to test the veracity of her tall tale with a psync before we take any drastic measure we might regret. Sneaking our way to the psync machine while the Boss isn't looking, we proceed to enter the world of somnium once again, where a quick look around is all we need to realize that we've been somehow tricked into playing ShovelForge. With no way to escape that fate now, we march forward, hoping to end the experience as soon as possible; little do we know that the situation can only get worse from here on out...
The branching point for this somnium is a bit special. Even though the flowchart on the left says that the split happens at the very end, the choices you make throughout the dream will decide which path you'll ultimately take once there. What happens during the somnium will start to differ from the point indicated in the video, however, the actual point of no return for either choice is when you need to interact with the second crafting table, a bit further in.
Just like last times, interactions with the other, non-essential objects are shown after the main part of the somnium. As you'll see, the time limit for this one was pretty tight, so I had to cut a few interactions from the main segment; since this video is already pretty lengthy, those will be shown at the end of Route B. Also, while there's not that many objects in the somnium, their interactions change regularly as progress is being made, hence why some objects appear multiple times in the extras at the end. As usual, those are shown in chronological order to make the time frame when the interaction is available easier to understand. It's also worth noting that the various monitors all share the same dialogues. As such, in order to avoid repetition, Monitors A, B, C, D, E & F will be treated as if they were a single entity. Finally, this somnium features quick-time events. While it's not really possible to make those interactive this time around, you'll be able to find what happens if you fail them in the extras at the end of the video too.
