Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Death Egg 2 speed run - Tails - 2:08
8This is my speedrun of Death Egg 2 as Tails, coming in at 2:08.
The method for this is kind of tricky, big thanks to gamble5688 for first finding it. Here's the procedure:
1) Stand on the very left edge of the second set of falling platforms. You want to just be able to see Tails's ear sticking out of the wall. Then once it's fallen all the way, tap right to sink into the wall.
2) Hold right, but don't hold it too long or you'll get stuck. When learning, just edge your way towards it, you'll get better at working out how long to hold right with practice. You want to stop exactly where I stop: the first frame where you can see wall on the left side of the tube. The easiest way to line it up is by using spindashes to move short distances at a time.
3) From here, jump, and once you land hold right and you should zip. Now you should fall slightly and hear the skidding sound, then and only then should you start flying. Just keep mashing buttons, you should fly into a ceiling. Continue to mash buttons and hold right.
4) Once you start moving up again, only hit A once, then wait until you flatten out and hit A one more time. Keep holding right, and you should appear at the top of the tube and zip back into the boss room.
