Sonic 3D Flickies' Island - Sega Mega Drive - Intro & Green Grove Gameplay [HD 1080p 60fps]
All three acts of Green Grove Zone complete with special stages from the Mega Drive / Genesis version of Sonic 3D Flickies Island or Sonic 3D Blast to give the game its North American name. An isometric platformer that while doesn't play quite as well as the previous Sonic games is the most technically impressive and shows in the right hands what the Mega Drive could really do. Visually the game is one of the best on the system, creating an almost 3D like world on the system. While many people may not like the 3D rendered art style, it's hard to believe the system could do something like this when the console was first released. Only the special stages really let the game down and you can see why they where replaced in the Sega Saturn version. While the game was programmed by UK developer Traveller's Tales the design and the music was done by Sonic Team. The music was also later reused in Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, partly due to the fact that the Mega Drive version was never released in Japan. The Sega Saturn version also had a totally new soundtrack that was composed by Richard Jacques, so Japanese Sega fans never got to hear the original Mega Drive tracks. While there is no question the Saturn version is better, you have to remember it is a port of a Mega Drive game.
