TMHT The Hyperstone Heist - Sega Mega Drive - Intro & hard playthrough 1CC [HD 1080p 60fps]
Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles The Hyperstone Heist, bit of a cheeky gameplay longplay / playthrough / tueplay / walkthrough / guide this one as we are forcing the PAL cartridge into 60hz via a game adaptor on a Japanese Mega Drive (Sega Genesis for USA viewers). Better known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) to us all now. There is some artefacting at the top of the screen in some sections but nothing too major, the music was also slightly PAL optimised so runs faster than it should. However for the bulk of this run you won't noticed any issues, the game speed on the whole seems to match the NTSC cartridge at 60hz. At some point we will do a 50hz video but that will make the game look like it is running in slow motion due to the speed loss at 50hz. So this is Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles The Hyperstone Heist, why are they called Hero and not Ninja you might ask, well the short answer is 90s PC police in European were mad. On the plus side these days they are called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Europe, so it's all good now.
OK so let's gets to the facts The Hyperstone Heist is the worst of the official 90s side scrollers Konami did. It was clearly a cheap and quick cash grab by Konami and got middle of the road reviews back in the 90s. Stages are long and boring often made up of multiple unconnected sections. The game itself is largely made up of assets from the first two arcade games and the SNES port of Turtles in Time. It even includes some elements from the first feature film which includes the continue screen artwork and the character Tatsu. Who is also the only original boss in the game, Rocksteady also got a new sprite but that's it, almost everything else intros, backgrounds, sprites by in large comes from previous games. It's fair to say you might think you are playing a fan hack if you didn't know better. While the core gameplay is as strong as ever the lacklustre level and character design makes this a slow and boring game that you have actually played most of it before in far better ninja turtle games.
Full one credit clear run as Michelangelo on hard mode, finishing it on hard adds in the cast role in the ending.

All footage in this video is captured directly from a Japanese Mega Drive console, via an Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro using a RGB Scart to HDMI upscaler. Note as we bypassed the region lock with a game adapter it causes some issues with the PAL optimisation coding for the game.
