Sonic Daybreak Is A Beautiful and Surreal Fan Game - SAGE 2025 Showcase

Sonic Amateur Game Expo 2025 (or SAGE 2025 for short) is finally here and I decided to kick it off with a 3D Sonic fan game that caught my attention and for good reason.
Not only does Sonic Daybreak have a striking and cohesive, almost dreamlike aesthetic, but also the gameplay is surprisingly fun too with emphasis on rolling and momentum with level design that accommodates for those things too. I say "surprisingly" because it was made, believe it or not, In Sonic Infinity/Velocity+ and in Unreal Engine 5 no less, a Sonic fan game framework that I usually look at with reasonable skepticism.
Level design, level backgrounds and music are the highlight for Sonic Daybreak IMO and is probably one of the most creative 3D Sonic fangames (that are not from Dreams on Playstation at least) in recent memory.
Only cons I have are the homing attack being very wonky when deciding which enemy or level asset to target and some collision detection, as well as mid air braking after a jump becoming a sharp 180 degree turn that throws you off sometimes.
Still a definite recommendation from me.
