9The sun rose on the final day Team Sonic had to stop Dr. Eggman from conquering the world. Their adventure now took them through a massive canyon full of rails to grind their shoes on.

Grinding is extremely prominent in this "Zone". You'll be doing more of that here than actual running.
The game still has you adjust your balance to the curve of the rails, but you can also boost your hold with a turn, and then hold that turn with your balance to go faster.
To go even faster than that, though, you can exploit switching between your Speed and Power characters while holding down your grind boost, each switch will automatically make them boost again.
Sometimes the rails will break, and other times, you will deal with green enemy trains that race alongside you. There will also be massive black and red trains that can't be destroyed at all!
You also move between rails, but you have to be careful with this kind of jump as it is inconsistent and may make you shoot over the rail you're trying to land on, instead, especially if they're curving vertically.
