Sonic: Genesis took two streams to complete, however because we only had a couple of zones left in the second stream we decided to take the remaining time in the show to play the ORIGINAL Sonic the Hedgehog as a baseline to show just how bad this GBA port really is.
Green Hill Zone is used as the benchmark for game speed as well as showing animations that were just cut from the GBA. The correct background in Scrap Brain Zone is also shown as well as the fact that the GBA's "cheese strats" for beating the final boss do not work here.
However the original version did have glitches of its own, and those are shown off here just for fun. The "spike glitch", where Sonic has no I-frames after landing on spikes, is shown off, and we attempt to show the "water glitch" though it looks like in this revision of the ROM this was patched. We also use debug mode to drop out of the special stage intentionally to show off some hidden and unused game graphics and assets, plus showing how you can collect 6 blue emeralds and the game will still think "Sonic Got Them All".
(And then we crash the game on Labyrinth Zone Act 1 just for the hell of it.)
