Spark Man: From the Moon to Hell - MCIHAD
At one stage early in the recording session, we muse aloud about how comparably effortless our operation has been in comparison to any previous session, bereft of major technical issues or medical emergencies. Clearly, fate was not only tempted, but provoked, pugilistic, and positively turgid of crotch with punitive rage! What I’m getting at is that Spark Man is the latest in a rapidly expanding list of games whose audio got fucked by forces whether mysterious (space rays) or mundane (Kyle) so we had to do it over. Dang.
It’s Just as well, I guess. While we lost the raw first reactions, we at least got to see more of the game on our do-over, since Nick had already figured out a lot of the idiosyncrasies in the design, which were legion. (This is to be expected, given it was developed by one SunA, creators of the beloved Hard Head series.)
On the plus side, this game showcases the errant Dick’s Cafe, which seems to be a chain business readily available in the vicinity of the Kremlin, according to the prophetic hydrocephalics in charge at SunA. Happily, this affords us the chance to speculate on the ultimate fate of Dick Masterson, indomitable host of The Dick Show, and former co-host of The Biggest Problem in the Universe, the loss of which we at Trouble Planet are still mourning deeply. Dick, if you’re reading this, request us an arcade game! There is still a standing Street Fighter challenge open to your old co-host, too!

This game is like RoboCop. You play a robot called Spark Man and the screen advances from left to right. Kill all the enemies with your standard weapon or weapons with limited shots available within the stages. You can also shoot the bad guys face-to-face with your leg. During each boss stage you have to kill a certain number of enemies to continue on to the next level. The game ends after Level 9.
