Splatoon 2: According to no plan in Rainmaker [19(2)-6, Sploosh-o-matic]
I sure show that E-litre 4K who's boss. I'm in the right place to defend the early orange push too, so it all works out nicely. It's an excellently cooked Curling Bomb that stops the Rainmaker and support, leaving me with room to find the E-litre 4K for a rematch. Not satisfied with the result, I make a bee-line for the E-litre 4K again, this time getting my jumping right, and I keep more of the orange team occupied whilst inking around the podium, until the Heavy Splatling isn't fooled by my silly antics.
We've still not managed to put a score on the board, despite my focussed plays. I keep the theme going by sneaking up the E-litre 4K more than successfully at last, before dropping down on the rest of the orange team. We do well to get the Rainmaker back to the centre of the stage, and I tidy up behind us as my squidmates recover the Rainmaker to push forwards. We finally get a minor score, as I squid around the back to harass the E-litre 4K again, and I use my Splooshdown to stay safe before finding out why we aren't scoring any more points. I think it's because the orange team are good at focussing on the objective.
I take the orange team's point, and head away from the Rainmaker for a bit, doing an excellent flounder impression before heading over the ramp to ambush the team from behind. Someone splats the Rainmaker before me, but I do well enough to splat the rest of the orange team, cancelling a Splashdown even. And with the orange team splatted, we can make a quick dash forwards to take the lead. Nice! I try to help us get further, but the E-litre 4K is notoriously difficult to defeat at such short range.
I do a bit of tidying up on my return, giving me time to wait and watch for the return of the Rainmaker. I drop down to splat some support, with my squidmates splatting the Rainmaker and a nearby Roller to save my blushes, and we push forwards to gain a bigger lead. The E-litre 4K is not prepared for my Ninja Squidding this time, but I am rather out of position to be safe in splatting them. So it goes.
I move defensively on my return, expecting the orange team to head the safer route across their ramp. They don't, but the Rainmaker is dropped, letting me head that way anyway to flank them. I'm happy to loiter by the podium, waiting for the E-litre 4K splat that doesn't come, before moving up in a pincer attack as the Rainmaker approaches. We don't extend our lead, but have the Rainmaker in a strong position as regulation time ends.
As we enter extra time, I would like to intercept the Rainmaker myself, but feel somewhat trapped by circumstances. Still, keeping a couple of the orange team occupied sways the numbers in our favour, and the Rainmaker is stopped quickly by my squidmates, so I'll just pretend that I was helping. Woomy!
