SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a 2020 platform game based on the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. It is a remake of the console versions of Heavy Iron Studios' SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (2003), developed by Purple Lamp Studios and published by THQ Nordic for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is the first major game in the series since SpongeBob HeroPants (2015).

The core gameplay involves collecting items and defeating the robots which have attacked various areas in Bikini Bottom, while crossing platforms and avoiding environmental hazards like spikes and flames. Some areas require different characters to beat, as each character has their own unique abilities. The player can control SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy. Switching characters requires the player to find a Bus Stop, upon using which the current character will switch to another, and using it again will switch back to the previous character, giving the player an option of two characters in each level. The default character throughout the game is SpongeBob; Sandy and Patrick do not share any levels as playable characters.

Throughout the game, the player will collect Shiny Objects, Socks, and Golden Spatulas. Shiny Objects are dropped by enemies and scattered throughout levels, and can be used to pay off clams to progress through levels and unlock extra challenges. They can also be traded with Mr. Krabs for Golden Spatulas. Socks are placed in levels in harder to reach locations, and 10 of them can be traded to Patrick for a Golden Spatula. Golden Spatulas are used to unlock new areas in the game, and 75 of them are required to fight the final boss.

A new addition to the remake is a multiplayer horde mode in which two players face waves of robotic enemies. The mode includes cut content from the original game, including a fight against a robotic Squidward, a scrapped version of Patrick's dream, and a cut phase of the Robo-SpongeBob fight.

Spongebob unlocked the next area and now he has to fight Robot Sandy in the Poseidome arena. King Neptune asked Spongebob to help defend the Poseidome from Robot invasion. When it turns out that Spongebob's opponent is a giant robot with the shape of Sandy the Squirrel, Spongebob doesn't like the idea of having to fight Sandy Robot while Patrick thought of the fight as fun for him out of idiocy. The first round starts with Spongebob facing Sandy Robot. The robot can only be beaten if Spongebob use down slam on its head after the Robot bounces near him that will send Spongebob into the air. It wasn't an easy task because it's been a while since the last time I played this game again but I think I know what to do quickly after a while. It takes three hit for the robot to turn the next round. When Sandy Robot gets three hits, the jumbotron box will crash down into the outside of arena. The second round start with Patrick facing Sandy Robot this time. As Patrick, you can beat the robot if Patrick landed on the robot's head and walk over its head down after its bounce sent Patrick into the air. After the robot's head roll because of Patrick, he must carry the robot's head into the broken jumbotron which induce electricity spark to electrocute its head. It takes three electrocuting for the Robot to turn for the final round. Patrick enjoys the fight and Spongebob is next much to his nervousness. The final round begin with Spongebob. This time, Spongebob need to slam down on the Robot's head after the bounce to make it pull out its head to the front. That way, Spongebob can damage the Robot with up-slam below its head removed from the body. With the robot finally down, Spongebob gained new Bubble Power: The Bubble Bowl which allow him to produce bowling ball made of bubble that could be useful for puzzle and damaging the robot. The Poseidome has finished and next stop is visiting Sandy in her house. Seems like there's a minigame of helping Sandy stop the robots while she tried to stop the water from leaking into her tree dome. Spongebob will get a Golden Spatula after finishing the minigame with Sandy thanking him for the help. There's not much to do so....we will be entering the Mermalair later but where? Seems like Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy ended up as a pair of uh...loose minded elderly I guess? At least Barnacle Boy is still sane while Mermaid Man looks like a bit of crazy there.
