Ice Age : Dawn of the Dinosaurs the Video Game Gameplay chapter 8 - Buck to the Rescue!
6Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (or Ice Age 3) is a video game based on the movie with the same name. It was released on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, and PC by Activision on June 30, 2009, 1 day before the movies release. It is the sequel to the Ice Age 2 video game.
Most of the cast from the movie voiced the characters in the game, with the exceptions of Denis Leary, Simon Pegg and Sean William Scott.
The game allows the player to take control of Manny, Sid, Diego, Scrat, Scratte and Buck as you take on or run away from dangerous dinosaurs, roll an egg to safety, chase for your beloved acorn, and explore caves and jungles over fifteen levels. However, some characters are just for tiny parts in the game, like Manny and Diego. The main character in the game is Buck. There are eight mini-games to play either in single player mode or with friends in multiplayer and get things from Fast Tony. In the multiplayer mode you can play as Mini-sloths and Baby Dinos. There are three different bosses in the game: Ankylosaurus, Chasmosaurus and Rudy.
In this level, we will playing as Buck the weasel. Unlike Sid who relies on his three claws, Buck uses vine whip as his sole primary weapon. On the way, Buck will receive a pumpkin juice shooter which used pumpkin as the ammo and lychee bomb (Explode after a while if thrown on the ground and explode upon contact on hostile object, enemy or neutral dinosaur. Useful for eliminating the annoying acid spitting plants growing on top of the unreachable platform through focus-targeting) later on. Each dinosaurs in this level has strength depending on the type of dinosaur (All dinosaur's attack took 1 life point but the amount of hits needed to defeat them range from each species but all of them spare for big dinosaurs can be defeated with one lychee bomb through direct hit. Note: Be careful when using lychee bomb as it could backfire on Buck if he is too close with the lychee after he threw the bomb, deal random damage of 1-3 but could kill Buck in one backfire hit from random bug). The dinosaurs here are Troodon (Can be beaten in 3 hits of Buck's whip and 2 shot by pumpkin shooter) and Dilophosaurus with foldable face-frill that spit damaging acid on Buck (Can be beaten in at least 5 hits of Buck's whip and 4 shot of pumpkin shooter). At the opning scene, Buck finds out that the Sub-Zero Heroes have been ambushed by dinosaurs. He talked to a stone bust of himself and the game will start. The platforms in here are easy (Probably easier than future levels) and luckily, Buck's flexibility and weapon made the level easier to pass through. One note that only Buck could grab hold on thick vine stalk or branches and move to every side of the stalk in order to avoid big spikes and one circle of spikes going in and out of the stalk.
