Spooktober '22 | Overblood (PS1) - Playthrough
More spooky PS1 goodness, this time courtesy of Riverhill Soft and EA of all folks. Overblood comes to us from the same development team as 3DO's Doctor Hauzer, which I haven't played yet but would like to (maybe soon?). Doctor Hauzer beat Resident Evil to the punch by 2 years, with Overblood releasing the same year as RE. All of these of course owe a lot to Alone in the Dark.
Overblood sees us waking up with no memories and freezing to death in a cryogenic freeze room. We're thrown right away into a timed puzzle and that sorta speaks to what kind of game this is. Born from the Japanese adventure game mold, Overblood is more about finding items and solving puzzles than dealing with deadly enemies. Soon we befriend a small robot named Pipo who helps us solve puzzles and becomes are very bestest friend in the world. Enjoy our adventure as we unravel what happened here, why Raz was frozen, and why Pipo is the bestest boy.
