3) I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my F7C-M Super Hornet to an Aegis Sabre. I've always been a believer in the Super Hornet's dog-fighting ability, but after getting my ass handed to me by pirates in the PU, I decided to try something else. Weapons and hit detection still seem not to be that great in the Crusader map, causing pirates to take longer than normal to kill; however, it's a lot easier to wreck a pirate with Panther repeaters than badgers. Overall, it was more than worth the $5 upgrade cost.
Here you can see the current state of Crusader and a few of the side missions. Note that the poor frame rate has nothing to do with my system but everything to do with the net code. I'm not the only one with frame rate issues, and I'm running this on a GTX 1080. Arena Commander, Star Marine, and offline play have no frame rate issues for me. ;)
I've been avoiding the Comm Link missions as there's currently a known bug that makes it impossible to complete. No matter what one does, the station will shut down and increase your wanted level.
Also, note, my ship spins out of control in space when I'm in EVA despite being perfectly centered due to another known bug that others are dealing with. (Only seems to happen in 0g.) Anyway, I hope this video motivates you to buy a starter package and support this project!
