Star Fox Command - Nintendo DS – Intro, Training & Missions 1 - 3 full gameplay [HD 1080p]
A number of the original Star Fox team returned to work on Star Fox Command, but this is one game which suffers from past glory. As the end result is the worse title in the series and a truly awful game. On the plus side the game has multiple endings and the battle engine for the combat sections is very good. It's the closest you will also get to the cancelled Star Fox 2 in terms of how the game plays. Like Star Fox 2 each mission takes place over a 2D world map where you have to direct your characters to a objective area.
In the right hands the battle engine could have been part of a very good game, but the engine is just hindered by the abysmal games design. For starters the entire game is against the clock, each map the player has a limited time frame in order to finish their objective, all battles fall under the same limited timer, so it's offend easier to just ignore the enemies and fly straight to the objective. As time increases aren't that common, so you have to be quick in battle to keep the timer from decreasing. You also have a very limited number of turns on the map as well, the time frame is so short that a lot of the game is trial and error as one mistakes can cost you the whole map. In locations where the fog of war is present this is a real problem (as shown in the video) as you can't see how many objectives you need to take.
Add to that terrible stylus controls that make performing manoeuvre like boosting and U-turns a royal pain and you've got yourself a real turkey of a game. But it gets worse each mission forces you to collect pointless fuel stars after shooting down the required enemies and then there is the return of the ugly character designs and graphics from Star Fox Assault. This is one Star Fox game best avoided.
