Last Bronx - Sega Saturn - Animated intro & Arcade mode 1CC playthrough with Nagi [HD 1080p 60fps]
Full one credit clear gameplay playthrough / longplay / walkthrough in arcade mode as Nagi includes the Brilliant Room bonus fight at the end. AM3's answer to Soul Edge was a rather slick arcade fighter about Japanese gangs fighting on the streets of Tokyo.
The arcade board pushed the Model 2 hardware to it's limits and it's easy to see why with huge 3D stages, featuring moving trains, cars, planes and even rain, along with highly detailed character models and animation. The Saturn's port lost the character shadows and most of the 3D elements in the stages, it does however managed to hold a solid 60fps and still look very good. A great fighter that was released at the wrong time, the vast amount of competition at that point in the mid to late 1990s meant the arcade version large went unnoticed and a similar fate awaited the Saturn version.
The Saturn port is a rather interesting version as AM3 added tons of bonus content for the Japanese release. The Japanese version came on two discs one being the basic game the other being a training disc full of voice acting to tell you how to play. Much of which was removed from the western released, the difficulty was also needlessly increased as well making much of the unlockable content near impossible in the western version.
A great port but one that is these days out classed by the later ports on both the PC and Sega Ages 2500 port on the PlayStation 2.
Also known as: ラストブロンクス -東京番外地 (Japan) Last Bronx ~Tokyo Bangaichi~ (raw translation)
Release: 1997
Developer: AM3
Publisher: Sega
Format: Sega Saturn (SS) / セガサターン
The word Bangaichi means “a location without an address; unnumbered plot of land” so it's rather hard to directly translate the subtitle as their isn't really a matching word in English. The words field and lot could be used but don't really fit with the setting. Something like “Last Bronx ~Nameless Streets of Tokyo~” is about as close as you'll get or just “Last Bronx ~Streets of Tokyo~”. The only other word you could also use is Ghetto but again that doesn't have quite the same meaning but it does fit with the setting for the game “Last Bronx ~Tokyo Ghetto~”
