7 years after the initial release of World of Warcraft I've embarked on my very first adventure in MMO land with Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bioware's insanely expensive (for them, that is) first foray into the genre.

From my first few hours with the game it's clear that there's a lot of clicking on hot keys, killing of specific enemy types and fetching of items...but also plenty of actual plot development, fully voiced dialogue and a significant element of player choice involved in the quests themselves. From what I've heard the game is (even) more solo-friendly than most MMOs, and there's an added incentive to playing by yourself since you want to control as much as possible of the story-related choices. That said, I obviously also want to check out how teaming up with other players affects the gameplay and whether it's implemented in a reasonably practical way.
