Startropics 1 - Chapter 6 Dungeon 2 Perfect Run
Perfect Run conditions:
-No damage taken
-No secondary weapon usage unless deemed necessary
-No kills unless deemed necessary
So the dungeon has its definite share of using the Asterisk (those shuriken-like weapons that split into 2 upon pressing the B button again), such as with the Loopers--NOW we have seen the last of Loopers in the game as of clearing this dungeon. I also dodged a bullet by an accidental find that the room with 5 Noctos has the exit triggered by killing the 2 that start on the north end, the other 3 not being necessary to take out. On the recorded run, you see the Noctos were particularly happy to capitalize upon that to stagger me, but I prevailed.
I still hate the next room more, however. It's a kill room with 4 Munchers and 2 Fuzzes. The Munchers are barely copy-and-paste versions of enemies that are like the Dodo Bird or Bone Dog, but the real threat are the Fuzzes. Remember Bubbles in the original Legend of Zelda? You'll be BEGGING those things to be your weapon disabler again, because Fuzzes are even worse with faster AND unpredictable movement. And believe me, if I could kill them, I most likely would. At least there's relaxing music for the stuff between this room and the Hoodoo Doll.
Speaking of, the Hoodoo Doll, if allowed to live for long, would like continually trying to fake you out to throw off your offense, but for some reason, it doesn't try this at first, and consequently, you see how Hoodoo Doll responds to being lined up with Mike with its cardinal direction attack that it stands in position to use, and I capitalize upon as much to knock off all of its health as a result.
After some more standard stuff is burrowing Rockys, who burrow underground and upon collision with a wall fire rocks in cardinal directions, and then if given the chance pulls a self-destruct that doesn't even harm them, the SD also doing a cardinal direction attack. However, if you kill them just as they come out of the ground (the Shooting Star needs only 1 hit to take them out), they won't even do the first attack successfully. Right after the first room with Rockys is a room with 6 Gadflies....up against the Shooting Star and with the misfortune of being in a kill room. Then a bunch more burrowing Rockys, and a couple of rooms later is a non-burrowing Rocky, which is just a copy-and-paste Muumu more or less. I'm fortunate the room after that is something I can just slip through into an already open secret passage, because I do NOT want to imagine dealing with 4 Rockys and 2 Fuzzes.
Getting past that is a fight with 2 Hoodoo Dolls, though I'm able to take one out of play quickly. After that, I still have to be considerate with my movements with the survivor, but nothing I haven't pointed out already. Of course, there's still the fight with the Statues of Twin Sumocho, which I think I'll want to revisit to see if it can be done without of course milking the Asterisks. I'd rather not have to deal with this dungeon again right now, though. For reference, the statues tend to fire simultaneously if both fire, and their shots are low velocity, so dodging them isn't the most complicated thing in the world.
