If you've been waiting forever for another dose of Light and/or Attacks directed at it, maybe the running time of another Gauntlet will make you think twice about your state of affairs!

... ... ...what, no being coy and trying to come back to it later? Especially after some of what we saw in those bonus stages just now? Okay, it's your poof-filled funeral, I guess...

That said, in just the past world, the Crystal Gems have made some huge strides towards general combat readiness, and I think we should be fine from here on out to tackle all comers as they arrive.

Strawberry Battlefield
Stage 2-Gauntlet:

Just as before, our stockpiled stash of items won't be joining us for the Gauntlet... hey, wait... what if you, for some weird reason... decided to visit 2-Gauntlet BEFORE 1-Gauntlet? I can't fathom why, but I wonder if maybe the game script is designed to feed you those conversations in order regardless of which Gauntlets you tackle before others?

...I'm not going to try to find out on Diamond Mode, and I wouldn't be surprised either way, but there IS room for Grumpyface to continue to surprise me, that's all.

Screen 1:
Treasure Chest
-Rose's Tear x2
-Fire Salt x3

Treasure Chest
-Star Fruit x5
-Beefy Sweatband x3

Treasure Chest
-Cookie Cat x4
-Lucky Crown x3

Okay, wow... that's... a lot of stuff. I sure hope they aren't trying to psych me out and suggest that I'll need to USE all this stuff just to get by... maybe.

---

Screen 2:
AMBUSH
-Sucker
-Giant Sucker x2

It occurs to me yet again, that I'm really not sure what to call a lot of these enemies. I mean, what they're supposed to be or how they operate is sufficiently obvious on sight, but knowing what to CALL them is another matter entirely.

Anyway, I'm on record for saying so... but... the giant versions of these little buggers are probably the most dangerous enemies in the area (except maybe for Giant Green Light Garnet!)... especially nasty in an ambush, too! And TWO of them! ...man, this sucks already...

---

Screen 3:
BATTLE
-Sprout x2
-Beetle

By comparison, this battle is downright... reasonable. More than reasonable, even! You get to go first, all the enemies are normal sized... what's your deal, game?!

At least I... THINK that's a normal-sized beetle... they're pretty big, but that's kinda their deal. Even being bigger won't make them any less susceptible to being stymied by putting Steven's buddies in bubbles!

Just don't let that hubris from seeing these guys as weaker get you into trouble... this IS still Diamond Mode and this IS a Gauntlet stage... either one of those by themselves would have the enemies stronger than normal, much less the two factors in combination.

---

Screen 4:
BATTLE
-Beetle
-Berry Bearer x2
-Giant Sucker

Yeah, I'm... not even going to guess what these guys with the Strawberry Clock obsession are supposed to be, but they do add an extra dimension of high-maintenance-ness to the battle.

---

I don't think I need to explain Holo Pearl's effectiveness... greater chance to have a more pronounced effect on battle isn't to shabby either.

---

Screen 5:
BATTLE
-Beetle x3

It's worth pointing out that the Fire Salt, unlike our Ember Badge, is guaranteed to inflict a burn on enemies when attacking or blocking a close range strike, meaning you should almost certainly leave it to our resident prankster, Amethyst... and probably also only when fighting three or more enemies that you'll want to rack up a bunch of passive damage on to make them less annoying to deal with over an extended period of time...

---

The 6 Hit Combo SOUNDS strong, but it's expensive to get used to the timing on its hits AND probably more practical to use more individual actions instead.

---

Screen 6:
BATTLE
-Berry Bearer x3

I'm sorry, did I say it was high-maintenance with two of 'em? Sorry, I didn't mean to tempt you, game. I'll be better about that in the future...

---

Screen 7:
Hey, neat! Steven's noticing how hard we're working and... ... ...if only I could also see at the same time who needed healing the most. (Less so if I'd obsessively healed everyone like usual in fear of an ambush, but I'd started getting cocky by now...)

Oh well, more free experience for Amethyst, the one who STILL really needs it to catch up.

---

Screen 8:
BATTLE
-Sprout
-Beetle x2

...this... feels like a step down in a lot of ways... should I be complaining at this point?

---

Screen 9:
BATTLE
-Sucker x2
-Berry Bearer
-Sprout x2
-Giant Sprout

Well, at least they've got quantity on their side at this point, but Giant Sprouts can't do anything regular-sized ones can't... except live longer. All by itself. So sad.

---

Fireball, already itself pretty crazy, gaining GUARANTEED burn infliction is pretty significant.

---

Screen 10:
BATTLE
-Sprout
-Giant Sprout
-Giant Beetle

Okay... these together MIGHT actually be annoying.

---

Screen 11:
Treasure Chest
-Lucky Flame Badge

THIS badge is fairly notable, and I'm sure we'll be seeing it later.
