0:00 - Mission
19:32 - Darkness Manifest

We begin the final mission in permanent Chaosbringer. Chaosbringer gives us infinite MP so you can just go nuts with special attacks and abilities. The area is the same place as the first mission and we just walk towards the throne room, slaughtering everything else along the way.

Upon reaching the throne room, we finally confront the Lufenians who can't even understand Jack because his speech just comes off as chaos monster speak to them. They try to contain him, but Chaos cannot be contained. Jack's then attacked by Darkness Manifest, the final boss. The final boss is piss easy. He changes phases at halfway health but he's still pretty easy to avoid. Defeating him gets Jack enough power to really become Chaos, as Jack Garland.

There's some extra missions after this, but they're just small boss rushes or small arena fights, not really worth it. There's DLC as well, but it's too much of a grindfest for me to actually play. It's literally just "replay missions over and over to grind up points to advance the DLC".

This game was...kind of all over the place. It did some things I really liked with the story, but implemented them pretty poorly. It felt really rushed at the end. And the world would have benefitted greatly from being a full on open world instead of this Nioh-esque mission system, and having some downtime with the party and showing their personalities with interactions beyond "boy, I sure do have MEMORIES of this place!". Whole thing feels like a wasted opportunity, but I don't regret playing it. It's just hard to recommend like this. Especially when I just consider the gameplay to be "okay".

So yeah, mixed bag, but a unique bag, I guess.
