9Not only are the loading times incredibly short, but the game itself runs a lot smoother with only some frame loss every so often. I did the ultimate test by spawning a Cyclops and driving it around with no issue.
The only issues I had were that there is no water animation on top of the water, looking up above from the water shows a weird depth perception for the air, anti-aliasing is non existent, and frames are still lost here and there.
Otherwise the game is incredibly fun to play now and able to be played on the Xbox. I hope they decide to release a 4k patch in order to optimize for the high power!
If you entered this thread to go on about how much better the PC is, rethink your life because you are a sad individual. Smoother than the OG Xbox One, not whatever rig you spent way too much money on to build.
"When will this officially release?" is a common question asked of titles in Xbox One's Game Preview program. Subnautica just launched in full on Steam, so naturally Xbox One players are curious when their version will launch too. Developer Unknown Worlds addressed the question in a blog post.
Today, at about 6.30pm PST, we are releasing an update on Xbox One that brings the Xbox version of Subnautica very, very close to the launch version on Steam. Even though Subnautica has not technically ‘launched’ on Xbox One, Xbox players still have all the latest goodies that Steam players do.
We want to take more time with the Xbox One version of Subnautica, because we don’t think performance and stability on Xbox One is up to the standards of a released title. We aren’t sure when we will ‘launch’ on Xbox One, but we will be working hard on doing so as quickly as possible.
The patch mentioned is live now, and Unknown Worlds will continue to keep Xbox players posted on the Game Preview version's progress.
