Been a while, eh?
As we all know, Ultimate Edition is a legitimately near flawless game and I am definitely not exaggerating for comic effect, but there was one thing even I was like "oh this is rough," and that would be two cutscenes in particular: the Super Freaks' intro cutscene and the X-Freaks one. Both of these were decent but WAY too long and kind of killed the flow. So! Here's how I handled these two for the upcoming 3.0.4:
1. Super Freaks intro was split into two cutscenes. The "Welcome to the USC" part now plays before the title screen as a brief lore dump, and everything after has been tightened up a bit and now plays before the Super Freaks' story.
2. The X-Freaks cutscene was completely redone. Most of the art is the same, with the addition of a fancy new X-Freaks comic cover drawn by yours truly. This cutscene is both way funnier and also, more importantly, half the length, so you can now have a quick laugh before you get thrown into the hellish trenches of Barrel Canyon.
As a nice bonus, the original versions of these cutscenes are still available in the museum!
