After felling Culex, it's high time we returned to the main storyline, where Axem Rangers are awaiting us. This is a long battle of attrition against a party of five dangerous enemies, each of whom carries skill that threaten the party and/or happen to be challenging to block. When the enemies are KO'd, they form the Blade, charging their Breaker Beam intending to take out all our party at once.
Things would indeed be very dire for us if... the Rangers couldn't be outsped by all three of our active party by wearing appropriate speed-boosting equipment. A single energizer use on the party followed by two Rock Candies dishes out enough punishment to eliminate all of the rangers (triggering some humorous dialogue between Axem Red and the others) but Red, who then wastes his turn buffing up his attack, letting us finish him off all too easily.
Slightly delaying the finishing blow on Red lets us get more actions in against The Blade, not having to risk dying to Breaker Beam at all thanks to the additional turns won this way. When our scrub party is taken out by the beam, Bowser and Peach continue the assault and see it reach its logical end.
An easy solution to an otherwise highly onerous encounter.
