Super Shovel Knight OST - The Forlorn Sanctum (SNES remix)
In a nutshell, this is basically an SNES remix of the final level in Shovel Knight - the Forlorn Sanctum. I tried to adhere to the SNES instrument limits, as well as use only Zelda: LTTP soundfonts to create the music (Why A Link to the Past? Shovel Knight takes place in a medieval fantasy world, much like Zelda, and I wanted to evoke that kind of feeling).

Song Notes (SPOILERS FOLLOW):
The past two videos have been remixes in Famitracker 8-bit of various songs, but for Shovel Knight I decided to go 16-bit because...well, Shovel Knight is 8-bit already.
I imagined that the first, very quiet and ambient part of the original song was a sort of aria* - one from the Enchantress, in fact - and had the song build up from there.
Arpeggio was being used by the Zelda 3 Harp and Piano).
The strings then build up the somber ambiance.
Deeper into the castle, trumpets start to play as the tension of the level mounts.
Finally, at the end, you hear a reprise of the main theme from Shovel Knight in the same soundfont as the Enchantress. That is, in fact, a nod both to how far Shovel Knight himself has come and to this final confrontation between him and his nemesis, who is in fact Shield Knight. The time has come, Shovel Knight. Will you go forth, and bring light to the world? Or shall it fall to darkness?
