Hoo boy, this track. I love the original song, even though there's some awkwardness behind my experience with it, and it's great enough for me to do a Famitracker remix of it.

Notes:

Full disclosure, I've never played Halo before. I think I've played it (and by it I mean Halo 4) only once at a party, and that's it. I've never got a chance to play any of the games due to not owning an Xbox or an Xbox 360, although I plan on playing the Master Chief collection to catch up on them. I've been interested in the series for a while, for a couple of reasons. 1) I hear it's really good, even for a FPS in a crowded market, and 2) It has incredible music. I've been listening to a metric crapton of Halo music lately, and my favorites so far, happen to be 'One Final Effort', '117', and 'On a Pale Horse', the latter of which I did for today's Famitracker Bits. For a game I've never played in a genre I'm not completely keen on by a publisher I'm also not too keen on, this music is awesome, I'll give the that. But anyway..

You're gonna hear some chords for the backing instead of just one note per quarter beat (?), and on top of that you're gonna hear more than 4-5 instruments. That's right, I used another expansion for this track. This time, I'm using the Namco 163 chip built into Famitracker. Why Namco 163 instead of Konami VCR6? Decided to try using it for a change. It's pretty good.

Although you didn't hear it in the official track, drums are playing as part of the track. I freakin' love these drum effects.

Also I decided to split in a bit of the Halo 3 renedition ('Behold a Pale Horse') at one point. Thought it would be cool.

Nothing much to say here, other than that.
