If Villager wasn't already bad enough, Olimar is even worse to play as in All-Star Mode, he doesn't even benefit from the increased damage you deal to opponents because his Pikmin are treated like projectiles, and Olimar doesn't even have many moves where he doesn't use Pikmin, and those moves aren't even that good, and if you lose in All-Star Mode, you don't get to use a continue unlike in Classic Mode. You do take less damage and knockback from your opponent's move, but you do have to watch out for stage hazards.
As with Olimar's Alt. Trophies, the 3DS version uses his red costume, that is his 2nd alternate costume, and the Wii U version uses his green costume, that is his 3rd alternate costume.
I will go over All-Star Mode and which characters you fight against.
Round 1 (2015-2007): Corrin, Greninja, Lucina, Robin, Dark Pit, Shulk, Bayonetta, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina & Luma
Round 2 (2006-2001): Lucario, Lucas, Ike, Zero Suit Samus, Toon Link, Bowser Jr., Roy, Olimar, Villager
Round 3 (1998-1994): Ganondorf, Sheik, Cloud, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Diddy Kong, Ness
Round 4 (1993-1991): Meta Knight, Falco, Fox, Wario, King Dedede, Kirby, Sonic
Round 5 (1990-1986): Captain Falcon, Yoshi, Dr. Mario, Marth, Mega Man, Ryu, Palutena, Pit
Round 6 (1986-1984): Samus, Zelda, Link, Bowser, Peach, R.O.B., Duck Hunt Duo
Round 7 (1984-1980): Little Mac, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Mario, Pac-Man, Mr. Game & Watch

Olimar did make his debut in 2006-2001, but sometimes Alph can appear as an opponent, and he made his debut in Pikmin 3, which released in 2013, which does seem misplaced, but then again this happens with Bowser Jr., who made his debut in 2002, and the Koopalings made their debut in 1988. For stages that appear when fighting Olimar and other characters that debuted in 2006-2001 in the 3DS version are 3D Land, Distant Planet, and Tortimer Island, and in the Wii U version, the stages are Mario Circuit, Pyrosphere, Castle Siege, Garden of Hope, Town and City, Smashville, and Pirate Ship.
One detail about Olimar's Final Smash, End of Day, is that for the Trophy, you can see both Olimar and Alph in the ship, and you can see a Bulborb, which appears during Olimar's Final Smash where they attack opponents off-screen, and the Olimar comes crashing down, and the explosion has high knockback and can launch opponents.
