I use R.O.B. to go through All-Star Mode, and in All-Star Mode, you deal more damage to your opponents, and you take less damage and knockback from your opponent's attacks, the stage hazards keep their regular knockback. As with All-Star Mode with R.O.B., while Robo Beam isn't as powerful in All-Star Mode, it can be good for getting in damage, and one of R.O.B.'s best moves for scoring KOs is his up smash, or you can use Arm Rotor to get in some damage on opponents, and then follow up with a forward or down smash.
With R.O.B.'s Alt. Trophies, in the 3DS version, it uses his 2nd alternate costume, that would be R.O.B.'s default costume in Japan, and in the Wii U version, it uses R.O.B.'s 6th alternate costume, that is the green costume.
I will go over All-Star Mode and which characters you fight against.
Round 1 (2015-2007): Corrin, Greninja, Lucina, Robin, Dark Pit, Shulk, Bayonetta, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina & Luma
Round 2 (2006-2001): Lucario, Lucas, Ike, Zero Suit Samus, Toon Link, Bowser Jr., Roy, Olimar, Villager
Round 3 (1998-1994): Ganondorf, Sheik, Cloud, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Diddy Kong, Ness
Round 4 (1993-1991): Meta Knight, Falco, Fox, Wario, King Dedede, Kirby, Sonic
Round 5 (1990-1986): Captain Falcon, Yoshi, Dr. Mario, Marth, Mega Man, Ryu, Palutena, Pit
Round 6 (1986-1984): Samus, Zelda, Link, Bowser, Peach, R.O.B., Duck Hunt Duo
Round 7 (1984-1980): Little Mac, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Mario, Pac-Man, Mr. Game & Watch

R.O.B. still to this day does not have a home stage, in the Wii U version, Wrecking Crew serves as R.O.B.'s home stage, and other stages where you would fight R.O.B. and other characters that debuted in 1986-1984 are Mushroom Kingdom U, Mario Circuit (Brawl), Skyloft, Norfair, Duck Hunt, Peach's Castle (64), and Hyrule Castle (64), while in the 3DS version, the stages are Golden Plains, Mushroomy Kingdom, Gerudo Valley, Brinstar, Peach's Castle (64), Hyrule Castle (64), and Duck Hunt.
Going over R.O.B.'s Final Smash Trophy, we do see R.O.B. transformed into a cannon and firing a laser, and this is one that requires being close to the opponent so that you can trap them in place and the move splits into smaller beams before finishing off with a very powerful beam, and it can be angled much like Samus's Zero Laser.
