This online battle is where I use Arena for, so it is not through Quick Play, so you don't get to choose whether to rematch your opponent after a battle, and it doesn't display the rules on the bottom screen, but it does provide tips. I might use Arena for some of my online matches, specially when going for less common stages, but this one is a special case, and you can pick your rules rather than have it be random between your rules and the opponents, and in most cases it would go with the opponent's rules.
I did have Cloud Sea of Alrest appear in a Quick Play match, but that match didn't go well, so I didn't upload it, so this was what made me go into Arena to have the stage appear. This is the right time to go over this stage, Cloud Sea of Alrest takes place on a Titan named Azurda, otherwise known as Gramps, he is the guardian of Rex, the main character from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and you can see other Titans in the background of the stage, and Azurda will move his head, making the stage smaller, so that affect recovery attempts. Azurda will provide commentary, like at the start of the battle, and before he moves his head, and he has unique quotes if Pyra or Mythra are present in the battle, and whenever a Titan appears in the background, Azurda will share the names of the Titans while he is looking out.
There are background characters for this stage, and those are characters that appear during the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and they come as a Driver and Blade pair.
My opponent, fittingly enough, uses Cloud in this match, while I use Pichu, and we do really well in this good, clean fight, which Azurda would say at the start of the match. As for my thoughts on this stage, even though I do like the concept of this stage, it is not one of my favourites, I would put it in my top 3 least favourite DLC stages, the other two being Mementos and Minecraft World, but at least I like Cloud Sea of Alrest better than the other two. When hazards are turned off, Azurda does not move his head, which is the one downside to this stage, as it does make it look smaller, and he does raise and lower his head, which does affect the angle of the slope.
Even though we do get some new songs from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 added into the game, there were three songs that were in the base game, and all of them can play on Gaur Plain, while the songs from the first Xenoblade Chronicles that would play on Gaur Plain can play on this stage.
