#SuperOldGameSaturday is all about getting into the guts and history of gaming, as we've said in previous streams and to that, I have a "brace yourselves" situation here with a stream that was intended to focus on one game originally, but ended up showing off two. This idea came from the Knuckles Chaotix stream and from the concept I and friends have instituted called #BadGameThursday, where we show each other games we can't believe are real and that are usually not very good to see how we react. So, for this one, we're diving into Digital Pictures, the 1990s company that pushed FMV, or full motion video games, that played like movies, namely with Slam City with Scottie Pippen, an insanely strange, cryptic, 90s as all hell and not very good 1-on-1 basketball game that comes on 4 discs. It's also one of released only 6 games on the 32X CD, which requires both the Sega CD and 32X to be connected to your Genesis to play it. I say all this because I get the sense that some may say "this is NOT a real game; you're making this up." Oh no, this IS real and we go into it here without much skill from me all the great discussions and chat involvement on FMV gaming, this game and the push for gaming in the 1990s to be the huge entertainment medium that it now is. Also, as a unique contrast, we also played a better Digital Pictures title for this later on in Sewer Shark for the normal Sega CD, which had involvement by some known movie industry people and even gaming industry figures like Rob Fulop (who the chat illuminated us to the interesting history of, which I thank them very much for).
