#SuperOldGameSaturday - Midway Arcade Treasures (PlayStation 2)

The first stream I uploaded to this site was of the #SuperOldGameSaturday Shooter Showcase, which covered a large group of games at once, and it was a favorite of mine and viewers who mentioned it to me. Last week, I went back to that concept with something of a viewer request for this classic game compilation that also marks our first look at Midway, which was one of the American giants of arcade gaming in the 1980s and 1990s. 2003's Midway Arcade Treasures for the Xbox, Gamecube and, in this case, PlayStation 2, took 24 of Midway's earliest arcade games, put them on a $20 disc and packed in many extras and historical information to go along with them and, despite some interface and control quibbles here and there and some VERY strong flashing lights cases if you're sensitive to those (I'm putting many warnings of that in the video and in the comments here), this was a pretty nice package that's bound to bring back memories of these games or make new ones of ones you may not have played (in my case, that was me with Rampart and Satan's Hollow during this stream). For this stream, we played all 24 games in here (and I'll provide timestamps where each specific game begins, just like the shooter showcase) and we also looked at some of the historical content and developer interviews that, along with backing up some of the research I did, reflects insights made by the chat and other factoids in between and goes well with how we truly get into the guts of gaming here on #SuperOldGameSaturday.
