[Tales of Destiny DC] Dalis (Mary Solo/Chaos Mode)
13Just a random Mary video for fun, and who would be a more fitting opponent for her than Dalis?
Dalis is a good test dummy but as usual, his weight class makes it difficult to combo him in the air even with Float Gravity active, although it's not a big loss since Mary can barely do anything in the air to begin with (only Senhoushou, Goraiken and Kagerou). However, some Artes can't chain together like they would against a lighter enemy as Dalis isn't launched high enough, like Shunjinrouga → Kagerou or some follow ups from Moushuuken, unless you get a stun beforehand.
Although Mary's forte is ground combat considering she can toss around the enemies like nothing, I had to get creative to include some aerial stuff, aside from just using Kagerou.
The launch from Houtsuishou and explosion from Bakujinkyousatsu can be used as setup to lift Dalis and then get him as high as possible. Shishiou Messai can be followed up with an aerial normal attack but only if it's used from a certain distance to end up next to the enemy, which Houtsuishou or Retsu Majinken can easily accomplish. I especially like this one because it's a nice air-ground transition that doesn't require Kagerou!
Something interesing with Mary, that I could barely showcase, is that she can abuse some back hitboxes since she can easily cross-up the enemy with Shittoushuu or be as close as possible with Kagerou. Dalis isn't a big enough target to really make use of this, but I included a sample at the beginning with Kagerou → Shishisenkou.
As for the character of choice, I opted to play as the real Mary instead of using a Narikiri doll because most of her Artes are non-elemental and thus she can easily hit Dalis' Blow weakness. But being the real Mary has other perks too due to what she can equip!
Her axes have high Atk, the second highest Crit stat among other weapons and most of them have even Min and Max CC values. Moreover, axes focus on crit-related abilities like Chaser or, most importantly, Add Stun thanks to the Strike Axe, which is the weapon she currently has equipped. Like Lilith's Ladles and Frypans or the Cocktail Dress armor, the Strike Axe increases stun duration by 1.5 seconds.
Mary shares heavy armor with Stahn and thus can benefit from the "main character privilege"™ since most of them have good secondary effects, like the Megingjord equipped here to increase her Atk and M Atk by 20. Her Bandanas give a flat stat boost and prevent status ailments, which is nice but it doesn't matter here. In this case, I chose the Awake Bandana for +12 Crit.
And finally, since I don't have to waste an accesory slot with either a Narikiri doll or Physical material, Mary is equipped with a Flat material to average her CC and Variable so it reaches a value of 22. Both accesories are at +6 to increase her Crit even further.
