Da biggest bird 🐦
I'll state the obvious and note that Aska is a flying enemy. And as you know, the franchise doesn't have a good track record when it comes to this type of enemies.
In spite of it being such a big target, Aska is moving up and down all the time, to the point some attacks can miss entirely because its feet moved out of the way. Moreover, its hurtbox also shifts upon being hit and its collision can even push you away. And because of its stance, there are some issues if you attack from the front, like hitting the head rather than the body or missing... again. it's super janky and ground-focused characters like Gaius suffer from it.
If all the constant hurtbox shifting wasn't bad enough, Aska's main gimmick is the light pillars that appear every 5 secs or so. These pillars, however, don't appear exactly below you but rather in an area around you, so there's this element of luck of "where will they spawn this time?". This one isn't a bad mechanic for once, just annoying.
The birdie is a step up in terms of bulk, almost doubling Factor Volt's HP, so I had to go for a stronger weapon than what I originally had in mind. Why not a Dark weapon, you may ask? Because despite lowering my P Atk by ~200 points, it's plain overkill! The extra 80% added to the multiplier means Aska would die mid-combo, and it dies quite fast to begin with, so yeah.
Without a Dark weapon and access to Shot, Power Charge 2 is mandatory to start a weakness combo.
Aska is basically locked to an incredibly slow light breath attack until 50% HP and that's an easy Flash Guard to activate Retribution, Gaius' unique character action. Retribution has a few interesting properties: it deals massive damage, especially after parrying an attack rather than dodging it; can OTG; doesn't consume the effects of Power Charge 2; and, most importantly, has invincibility frames during the kick (ground version) or launcher slash (aerial version).
Although Retribution is mostly used for damage here (free 10k!) since the Calamity Stance follow-up breaks Aska's Iron Stance anyway, its other propierties will see use in future videos.
Finally, it's important to keep moving during the combo to avoid the incoming pillars or even delay your approach a bit, like at the beginning, to ensure they don't appear at the wrong time.
