I've started getting back to recording lately, since I've recently switched operating systems and had to get all new drivers for my device and hopefully I'll be able to get the capturing oddities straightened out soon.

But enough about that...this is what I've been playing of late, and I must say that I really seem to have a lot of fun with this game and its cast. In one of my future uploads, I'll leave the whole process intact to show how quick and easy it really is to find an opponent in this game.

In my experience so far, visual lag is nonexistent unless you've lost connection with your opponent (at which point it no longer matters), and input lag has only been noticeable in a few matches out of hundreds.

So yeah, you could say I'm really impressed with the fluidity of this game's Wi-Fi.

I'm very struck by the cast of this game in particular, and I'll try to give a brief explanation of who or what each character is for those who may not know...I myself am still trying to get a firm grasp on them all and their backstories.

Match #1 -- Washinkyo, Amehon:
Ken the Eagle and Ryu (PILOT)
vs.
Polimar and Karas (MS.MUTOU)

Ken the Eagle is the leader of the five teenagers known as Science Ninja Team Gatchaman who fight the evil crime syndicate Galactor.

Ryu is the main character of Street Fighter who constantly seeks out new challengers to fight and struggles with his internal desire to fight to his fullest, even if it could kill someone.

Hurricane Polimar is a private detective who puts on a costume that can supposedly transform into anything so he can act like a total ham and fight crime.

The human who is the holder of the title of Karas is bound by a contract with the spirit world to keep the balance between humans and the spirits living alongside them within their own city as well as protect that city from any outside threat.

Matches in this game are typically 2-on-2 affairs, with the players able to switch their characters in and out to fight the opposing team...I'll get more into the details of this sort of thing another time.

This match is pretty standard...it's a good gauge of what it looks like when people of roughly equal ability go at it...although PILOT would probably be insulted to think that I would think someone like myself to be his equal.

A note on Polimar and his posing: each time he does so, a Polimar emblem appears above his Hyper Gauge. He can either cancel out of his four-kick special move into any other special move for the cost of one or he can spend all three on his Level 3 Hyper Combo, which you actually get to see used.

Match #2 -- Orbital Ring Systems Cargo Bay:
Tekkaman Blade and Frank West (PILOT)
vs.
Gold Lightan (MS.MUTOU)

Tekkaman Blade is a human who, like other Tekkamen, was outfitted with powerful armor and weaponry by evil aliens, but escaped before being brainwashed by them and now seeks to defend the Earth from their invasion.

Frank West is a photographer (he's covered wars, you know) who ends up trapped inside a zombie-infested shopping mall.

Gold Lightan is a giant robot who defends the planet from other robotic invaders and spends the rest of the time not spent in combat tucked away in what appears to be a golden zippo lighter.

As you can see, Gold Lightan fights by himself in lieu of an actual team. It takes some getting used to to get used to the differences between fighting both as and against giant characters.

I'm...really bad as Gold Lightan. Really bad. He's easily my worst character. Tekkaman Blade actually has a lot of really nice moves that make him quite effective against giants...so the conclusion isn't really all too surprising in the end.

Match #3 -- Burning Wasteland:
Jun the Swan and Tekkaman Blade (SEKTAH84)
vs.
Megaman Volnutt and Zero (MS.MUTOU)

Jun the Swan is the demolitions expert of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman and its certifiable source for fanservice (even in the 70s!) and harbors a large amount of understated affection for Ken.

Megaman Volnutt is a Digger in the far future where people make a living going underground and seeking out treasures in ruins on the surfaces of islands on an otherwise flooded Earth.

Zero is a powerful and decorated Maverick Hunter and one of Megaman X's most trusted allies. He's also the last and greatest creation of Dr. Albert Wily and the progenitor of the Maverick Virus, although after sustaining some damage, he eventually came to his senses and became the only one immune to it.

I probably don't use Zero offensively enough and I probably don't use Megaman defensively enough. The former is pretty quick, but kinda fragile, and the latter...well, he can be a real jerk...and I probably need to be more of a jerk if I want to get more mileage out of him. They can both charge and release buster fire for a variable-size fireball attack. Larger ones even completely destroy other projectiles and carry on through to their owner.
