Okay, so what follows is pretty ridiculous, so bear with it if you can. The first two matches were a direct response to "hey, want to have a giants match?" to which we decided to alternate...and then realizing that neither of us seemed to have much potential with Lightan as of right now, we both took PTX for another spin.

The other weird thing was that all of these matches took place at the Daigo Temple...the other two matches in this video (a total of five...it's crazy! ...only two were really one-sided, you'll see) just also happened to take place there, but the last one in particular (in fact it was the last one we played in this marathon session of matches) was a big surprise.

Match #1 -- Daigo Temple (Moonlight)
PTX-40A (SHROUD)
vs.
Silver Lightan (MS.MUTOU)

PTX-40A is a VS or "Vital Suit" in the world of Lost Planet. So when the opening sequence boasts "This is a perfectly balanced VS"...it's not talking about this game (although I would say that it's incredibly balanced for a game of this nature with such a wildly varied roster), but that would be funny, wouldn't it?

The interesting thing about Gold Lightan is that only half of his color choices are actually Gold. Two of them are silver, and the character is actually renamed completely to be Silver Lightan! Lightan is the only character with costume-specific naming like this, though.

So yeah, I've already pointed out Lightan is my worst character.

So yeah, I'm lousy as Lightan, but I manage to do a much less abominable job whenever I'm using PTX instead...but like what happened last round, I'll say that it's less because of my amazing "talent" and more because my opponent can't use him at all either.

So following that fiasco, we decided that it might be more interesting if we both tried PTX-40A, and what do you know, it was!

Also, the announcer calls this machine "Ivan," which is its codename, I believe...although having never played Lost Planet, I don't know what that means exactly. It's probably a long story.

Karas and Saki (SHROUD)
vs.
Saki and Viewtiful Joe (MS.MUTOU)

Saki Omokane is...some kind of a commando for a secret Earth Defense Force. The surprising part? She's from an obscure Capcom arcade quiz/dating simulator game. Yipes, that's a weird pedigree...congratulations on your promotion, Saki!

So yeah, as you can probably tell by what she takes into battle, Saki is pretty much designed with long-range keep-away in mind.

And this one is probably the most surprising one of them all, because I got a Random Gold Lightan and found myself facing a Sliver Lightan. Like with the hot PTX-on-PTX action, this one was much less one-sided...
