Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (GBA) Playthrough [4K]
1"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" by for the Game Boy Advance is an action-adventure game featuring the iconic ninja turtles Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. Developed by Konami, the game was released in 2003 and is based on the TMNT reboot. The game is a regular beat 'em up platform game where the turtles battle against their arch-nemesis, the Shredder, and his evil Foot Clan.
The player selects which turtle to play each of the four acts as, and each has a special ability, adding some variation to the gameplay. Leonardo has the ability to navigate through tight spaces and engages in a rail shooter minigame while riding the hovercraft Sewer Slider. Michelangelo has wall-jumping skills and takes on the sewer pathways with a skateboard. Donatello climbs up pipes and partakes in a shoot 'em up level using a hang glider. Raphael, utilizing his sai, climbs walls and has a motorcycle racing minigame on the Shell Cycle, competing against Casey Jones.
The graphics are cartoonish and very well done, fitting the game perfectly. The beat em up gameplay is solid, but becomes a repetitive with time. Fortuntely, there are some minigames added to change things up from time to time. Between the missions, there's quite a lot ot lengthy cutscenes telling the story. These can be skipped though. A big negative is the lack of multiplayer, but was not uncommon for Game Boy Advance titles at this point.
