"Felony 11-79" is a racing video game developed by Climax and published by Yanoman and ASCII for the PlayStation in 1997. It's part of the racing sub-genre of causing as much damage as possible rather than just race for time or pole position. There's also an adventure game element into, where the main goal is to recover pieces of a mysterious statue that has been shattered.

The plot centers on finding twelve fragments of a statue scattered across three contemporary towns. Your character is enlisted to recover these pieces by a dubious wealthy individual with questionable intentions for the artifact. For this, you'll need to navigate through three distinct locations: Downtown (reminiscent of a Chinatown), Sea Side (resembling the Pacific Coast highway) and Metro City (reminiscent of Paris). Your mission is to collect the items and successfully make the escape before time expires.

In the game, causing as much damage as possible is encouraged, rewarding the player money by doing it. Demolishing sports cars, minivans, cabs, or police cars will earn different amounts and essentially serves as a substitution for score. Graphically, Felony 11-79 has the typical visual style of PlayStation games from its era, with polygonal models and basic textures, delivering a solid representation of the action-packed gameplay.

Playing "Felony 11-79" is good, dumb fun. However it's over far too quickly. Sure, there are different vehicles to chose from, including ulockables, and hidden paths to find. Still, the game can be finished very quickly, just a few more driving locations would have made it a much better game.
