I think most already enjoyed Terraria at this point; it's almost 10-year-old game. You might have experienced the game since 1.1, like me. or, from [insert version name]. Sometimes, you have used a weapon that was popular on its finest hour, but now, it's pretty much forgotten in Terraria... or unused. Either of which works.

Flamethrower is scary, but it isn't throwing weapon. You don't throw flame to enemy, sadly. However, it uses gel, very unique ammunition for unique weapon... maybe it's not that unique, since elf melter also exists... But does someone uses flamethrower now? Because I don't. It is good enough weapon, so maybe that's something..? Maybe flamethrower is a weapon that makes every creature in Terraria scary, so devs took note of it, and decided not to add more flamethrower-like weapons.

Of course, if you liked those weapons, I totally agree with you, because they're fun to use, mostly. Who wouldn't want to hear that sound of drills? or chainsaws? Only if it was actually more useful... Thankfully it is fixed on 1.4, but people won't forget, and probably choose pickaxe over drills... And there's heat ray. Everyone probably forgot what that is. Maybe golem weapons are all unpopular? Hatchets are more popular than any other weapon in Terraria though. Or picksaw.
