Are you a Bad Game Developer if you use AI?

I wanted to talk about a recent viral tweet on X.com that sparked a lot of controversy in the game dev world. It showcased an AI-generated proof of concept for a retro-style fantasy FPS set in a highly immersive, moody environment.

Some developers slammed it as AI slop or even the death of creativity, while others found it inspiring and full of potential for rapid prototyping and worldbuilding.
