The Bard's Tale 4: Barrow's Deep finally has a release date on PC - 18 September - and we've played the first six hours hours of inExile's Kickstarter revival. This gamepkay video explores new dungeons, cunning puzzles and sees us gulping down plenty of ale as we explore the combat.

The Bards Tale IV is the true sequel to the original Bard's Tale trilogy, taking place several years later and returning us to the city of Skara Brae. Turns out it's still full of goblins and monsters in need of a good swording, so our new gameplay shows exactly that.

We test out the hard class, use the new bard songs to uncover secrets and explore a wizards tower laced with traps and riddles. We also see how the game builds on the original game and recreates some classic areas.
