The BEST VR HAND TRACKING game on the QUEST 2! // New Quest 2 Gameplay
261VR hand tracking games are usually a little bit gimmicky, I've yet to really find something that fully sells me on the concept as far as gameplay goes, I typically like my new VR games / new Quest 2 games to be built to utilise every aspect of the touch controllers because more often than not VR hand tracking is fairly hit or miss (not to mention you don't get any kind of haptic feedback from your actions when using your own hands). HOWEVER this new VR roguelike for Quest 2 is the best VR hand tracking game I've played to date and it somehow manages to make actions feel seamless and responsive even when the action ramps up, this is Rogue Ascent and it aims to make finger guns more deadly than ever!
The concept of Rogue Ascent VR is a simple one, the game plays like a typical roguelike adventure with procedural environments, lootable guns, purchasable perks, a light stealth element and lots of replayability, however the game is unique as it uses ONLY VR hand tracking and doesn't support any type of conventional touch controller use. To equip your gun simply make a point finger (finger gun), to block lift your hands up in front of your face, to access your map flip your palm downwards and interact with the menu on the top of your hand, all the actions feels exceptionally natural and it's easily some of the best VR hand tracking I've played with to date, elevated by the fun little roguelike adventure it's attached to. In some scenarios the tracking can feel imperfect (an issue I've had with hand tracking in general) but overall it's a slick experience and a very novel approach to making a VR game feel different and unique. Fans of VR roguelike games / Quest 2 roguelike games or just people who want to check out the best VR hand tracking Quest 2 has to offer should definitely give this one a try...
