The Biggest Inconsistency with the Dinobots in Transformers 4. In Transformers: Age of Extinction, the Dinobots are portrayed as legendary, ancient warriors, imprisoned by the bounty hunter Lockdown. The movie suggests they are very old, possibly having been on Earth since the time of the dinosaurs or created during a Cyberforming event 65 million years ago. They are large and incredibly strong, specializing in close quarters combat and wielding heavy firepower. While possessing fighting prowess, they are generally depicted as having less developed intellect compared to other Transformers, focusing on brute force tactics. And it’s because of their brutal nature that Optimus had to sway them to join the Autobots by displaying his power. You would think they were never a part of the Autobots up to that point. But there lies the inconsistency. If you look closely, you’ll notice that when Slug transforms into his triceratops mode, he had an Autobot logo on his forehead. Yet he just met Optimus and the other Autobots moments before. But I guess it just there for show.
