Mirage’s Personality Was Inspired by This Character in ROTB. When were first introduced to Mirage in Transformers Rise of the Beasts. We were hit with a version of the character we had never seen before. Upon seeing him in the reveal trailer many fans assumed he was Jazz since he shared a similar color scheme and vehicle form. But his character was more comedic than that of the Autobot lieutenant. Not to mention he was different from his other counterparts. The original incarnation was posh and enjoyed the finer things in life. And he oftentimes felt like the war between the Autobots and Decepticons was beneath him. Meanwhile the Bayverse version was bold and cutthroat. But ROTB Mirage was a nonstop wisecracking robot who barely took anything seriously. Leading many to wonder why they made him so different. And according to his voice actor Pete Davidson he wanted to channel the zany energy of his favorite comedy actors Adam Sandler and Jim Carry from The Mask. Which explains why Mirage is capable of shapeshifting into multiple vehicles.
