Maeve is filming a scene where she almost kisses the person who helped them in the move but funill yenough the MCU would never be this brave having an LGBT character, the closest we ever got was
one od the directors playing a gay guy at a survivors meeting. Maeve almost kisses her and this is part of a bigger take on representation as Elena is being used as a PR puppet as the PR team create #BraveMaeve and are too scared to even
mention she is bi and having two femme women as it is percevied as problematic. Even though represntation matters, they canno tbe their true selves. Homelander mentiones joss whedons re writes singing as this a blantatn reference to
joss whedon ruining the justice league after snyer left. He is also using a new way to torture maeve as she thinks that he is torturing her but his being so accepting.
In a later scene when the movie is being filmed the same character that maeve almost kisses has a drive and a thinly veiled reference to agent coulson pops up and she needs to take it to the tower despite mutants turning up. Luckily
Starlight and Stormfront pop ul saying girls get it done, a call back to a few episodes ago with the push for the seven femeales. This also references the time that Captain Marvel took the infinity gauntlet off spidey and teamed up with
the MCU female heroes to get it to where it needed to go. I loved these references and we also had A train make an emotonal speech about leaving the seven which is essentially his farwell.
Billy is also drowning his sorrows after last weeks gut punch that his wife won't leave her child and the compoumd. He takes this hard and deals with it the only way he really knows how and that is getting into a fight and being beaten
up in a mosh pit which says so much about his own self destructive nature. He lies ot hughie about being retired and off grid and says he has gone to argentina but really he has gone to his auntie who hilarously is a drug dealer. Hughie
and bill yhave a tender moment as billy says that hughie is his canary which is a call back to a few episodes ago. Billy gets to see his dog which was criminally missing from the first season and is featured prominelty throughout the
comics who loves to hump everything in sight. Hey, don't all dogs right? He has gone back there and mothers milk is instantly concerned the minute that hughie mentions he was called a canary and ironically this word being used is
a sign that billy is being stupid. As of last week we know that black noir is hunting billy and highie and mothers milk are also in danger as they are all at his billys aunties. The concoct a fake gas leak and do their best home alone
impression as the wait to be attacked.
Hughie learns of billys brother and how he is passed away but they are interrupted by black noir and I think that will clearly come up later as we learn the full story of what happened. Black Noir attacks and I was howling at the
liberaly use of c u next tuesday as billy realises he has to be smart when taking on a member of the seven. He says he has pictures of homelanders son which may be true but it's hinted he was bluffing and it makes sense noir is a puppet
of stan as he makes a deal to spare their lives so the pictures don't get leaked. I mean on top of homelander's video of killing a terrorist an dbystander, it would be terrible for vought, showing homelander still has use to stan and
vought. Hilarously at the end, a homelander toy is given to billys dog as he says f it, an homage to the comic version where it's a cue to you know.. We may see a truce or cold war between vought and the boys now as this di dhappen
in the comic leading stormfront to attack them which is where I think this is going.
Homelander's story arc this episode is superb and to be hones the real highlight of the episode as his story continues his need to be loved and his PR system failing so very very badly. The fall out of him actually having his war crimes
leaked means that he is dropping points in public perception. He is failing heavily as he is claled out by Victoria newman who in the comics was a male and also a supe. The comic book version ws able to kill their running mate when
VP leading them to take the job. In the show she is an AOC knock off with even the reference of AOC dancing to a gi tbangles song.
