Here's one from Sirius Software, who made their name on Ataris range of hardware and the apple 2. Their C64 output was, shall we say, eclectic covering arcade clones, original titles and text adventures. Mostly forgettable stuff but there are some interesting ideas. Bandits was coded by Tony & Benny Ngo and Len Bertoni and takes Galaxian as its template. Standard shoot down the patterns but with a few interesting wrinkles. Firstly, you are protecting 5 fruits. If all fruits are captured & returned to the Mothership its Game Over. Secondly, it mixes up the patterns with snake like enemies carrying bombs which, if they hit the floor, remain for a few seconds and a red splodge and can still kill you. Most importantly, you have a shield that needs to be used tactically as you will get boxed in.

I have to say, I rather like this one. Sure, its a bit of a clone but it shakes the format up enough to be a fun experience. Thumbs Up from me.
