The Deadseat Playthrough (Flawless Run / No Supplies)
38Playing through The Deadseat without letting the monsters or obstacles damage the car and without any supplies to make the game easier. When video game shenanigans spill over to real life the only thing you can do is show off your skills while your parents fight.
Really neat little game with pretty simple but fun gameplay. The game is pretty forgiving since the monsters have to damage a section twice before they can get in to kill you (and dying resets car damage). The scavenging part lets you get bear traps (presumably as a last line of defense against monsters), barricades (to repair a section), and soda (which I think prevents attacks for a short time) but from level 3 onward the spider monster will chase you there. Dying in the scavenging section just ends it while keeping anything you found. It should be noted that you can't die from obstacles - it just damages a section but if every section is fully damaged obstacles do nothing (you're just living on the edge with the monsters).
Your biggest issue in avoiding damage in making sure you won't hit an obstacle when closing the game to deal with monsters. Steering takes notably longer to complete so making sure you aren't in an obstacle's lane before doing it is important.
The game is free of itchio but releases on Steam soon, which will also include a hard mode. Guess I'm somewhat prepared to try it.
