DM Notes: I wanted a secondary vampire to threaten the party, a chief lieutenant native to the continent, and so I remembered the pennangelan, a blood-drinking monster whose fable comes from Southeast Asia and Oceania. She was trying to escape from the fight towards the end, and if she'd succeeded she would have joined the boss battle as well. The vampire's tactics in the end are the result of all his observation: stay mobile, stay invisible, and focus on damage spells so Greater Invisibility can stay up as long as possible.
