The trip to Anvil was not rough. I departed the from the Stables just outside of the city, and headed north, towards Crowhaven. Also not a bad journey. The castle itself, however, reeked of death and evil. Vampirism is afoot. By all that's good in Mundus, it is now my job to clear this place out.
The first obstacle was a vicious group of Timber Wolves. I felt I had encountered them before, and I knew how to deal with them quite easily. Predictable creatures. Then rats. Upon delving deeper, I found myself curious of the growing stench of death in the direction I felt was opposite of my goal, so I ventured that way. I was right! Vampires. I summoned my Scamp and did battle, fireballs were flung, and the Vampires were made quick work of. There were some good items in the area, worth some Gold, so I took them as well. I went back on to the beaten path, and killed another unfortunate Timber Wolf. Just past the wolf was a locked door that the key Agronak gave me fit into. Entering the room, I felt a sense of dread. Alas, there was another Vampire! Locked away in his own room. Why didn't the door lock FROM THE INSIDE? no wonder he got stuck here and went mad from hunger, he is a moron. Upon further inspection, however, this is the lord of the Castle. A powerful Vampire and previously a powerful Lord, Lovidicus! He had lived for hundreds of years, before falling for an Orc woman by the name of Luktuv, I assume her to be Agronak's mother, later confirmed in Lovidicus's journal.
The poor man seemed to truly be a good lord, and to love his son very much. Had I known I would have given him the chance to drink of my blood and see his son. Does Vampirism truly make one evil? This new venture enlightened me as to the fact it does not. I left Crowhaven and started to make my way back to see Agronak with this unfortunate news.
Upon arriving back and delivering the news, he was excited and quite happy with it, teaching me several new skills and ways to fight, claiming they'd be useful in a fight against him. Then he read the Journal. He seems very sullen now, right down in the dumps. There's nothing I can do to help him it seems. He's inconsolable. I have never felt pity like this before, but I must take advantage of this situation as I can. Soon, I will be the Champion of the Arena, and Agronak will rest his sad soul.
