Gaming is an insanely popular past time and self-acclaimed gamers are proud of the time and effort they've put into their hobby. As it becomes more mainstream, the environment they're used to might change drastically.

Nintendo has been gearing towards the mobile market for years with their Gameboys and now the Switch family. While Microsoft, Sony, and Valve are all making inroads into new and unfamiliar territory.

But in all honesty, the gaming industry is going to follow the money and the money is leading to where the most people are and will use whatever means it takes to get new audiences hooked into the gaming cycle.

So what is going to be the industry standard in the next ten years? Are we all going to own the next-generation console? Will having a Gaming PC suddenly become the next fad for every house to own? Will the big gaming companies push towards next-generation Mobile technology for a broader audience?
